TEIP Pilot Communities
The original TEIP Communities consisted of partnerships between local coordinators from the Ontario Heart Health Program and the Ontario Stroke System who successfully responded to a TEIP Call for Proposals. Between 2005 and 2008 TEIP Communities received TEIP support to pilot-test three sets of TEIP Tools: Program Assessment, Program Evaluation and Program Evidence. Their feedback and suggestions helped to ensure TEIP's capacity-building tools are user-friendly, relevant and useful.
Objectives of the pulot-test included:
- Increase application of evidence-informed concepts, tools and practices to heart health and stroke prevention activities
- Increase use of relevant evidence to plan, implement and evaluate community-based CDP initiatives
- Contribute to the development of practice-based evidence through development of high quality program evaluations
- Strengthen quality of partnerships between community-based health promotion and clinically-based stroke practitioners to support common mandates for CDP.
