About

The Evidence-Informed Practice Compendium represents the results of a comprehensive and systematic review of hundreds of interventions that were identified in academic literature and by experts in the field. Contact TEIP if you are interested in detailed information on how the 'Best' and 'Promising' Practices were identified.

Initial work on best practices in Heart Health date back to the mid-1990s when the Heart Health Resource Centre contracted with the Health Behaviour Research Group (HBR then, and now the Population Health Group - PHG) at the University of Waterloo to conduct an "International Scan of Best Practices" in schools, worksites and communities. Building on the initial work, the HBR updated the scan in 2002. The program descriptions contained in this Compendium have been edited from the original work of the HBR. Reports and documents arising from this work can be accessed through The HHRC Best Practices Archive.

Over time and as information becomes available, the practices will be updated and refined as needed and new ones may be added.

In some cases, TEIP has copies of program materials described in the Compendium. Contact TEIP to ask about catalogued materials available for loan.
