Compendium of Evidence-Informed Practice in Chronic Disease Preventions

Search the Compendium About the Compendium

This searchable database assists practitioners with the review and selection of interventions for local implementation. There are now 87 Type 2 Diabetes, Stroke and Cardiovascular Disease prevention interventions in the database. They have all been recommended by academics or practitioners as being 'Best' or 'Promising' Practices.

Since 2008, many TEIP Compendium interventions can be accessed via the Public Health Agency of Canada's Canadian Best Practices Portal along with hundreds of additional interventions.

Best and promising practices are just one source of evidence to inform program planning. They can inspire new ideas and approaches OR be adapted and adopted to meet the needs and characteristics of local intended audiences.

Evidence-Informed Decision Making

The TEIP Program Evidence Tool provides a step-by-step guidance to identify, interpret and apply a range of evidence, including best and promising practices, to inform programming decisions.

The National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT) has developed a useful Tool For Assessing Applicability and Transferability of Evidence to guide the adaptation process
